Schwarz Digits creates the technological foundation for digital sovereignty in Europe. As the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, we develop and manage the IT infrastructures for the retail divisions Lidl and Kaufland, as well as Schwarz Production and PreZero. At the same time, we operate as an independent provider in the external market to support companies across Europe in their digital transformation. We bundle our core services in the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, Communication, and Workspace.

We are a team at the heart of Digital Experiences in the Schwarz Group. We build the essential design and component systems that hundreds of our developers in the Schwarz Digits use every day to create first-class web applications.
You'll be joining a team that is focused on developing an open-source design system for complex enterprise applications. You will work on a modern, public Vue.js library that has high visibility throughout the entire Schwarz Group. This is your chance to make a real impact and contribute to a project that empowers developers company-wide.
Your Tasks
- Build Components People Love: You will develop and maintain reusable, extensible, accessible, and high-quality UI components for our Design Systems (Onyx & Trinity) using Vue.js and TypeScript.
- Ensure Rock-Solid Quality: You will write Playwright and Vitetests, conduct code reviews, and ensure our high-quality standards are met within the team.
- Share Your Knowledge: You'll write clear and easy-to-understand documentation, making it a breeze for other development teams to use our components.
- Shape the Future: You will contribute your own ideas, actively participate in technical discussions, and shape the technical evolution of our open-source project Onyx.
- Grow with Us: You'll gradually grow into a role where you support other teams in integrating our system, becoming a multiplier for excellent User Experience and User Interfaces across the company.
- Agile Working: You will work in an agile, high-performing, and autonomous team and drive the development of the libraries. You'll contribute to our internal processes and help organize team workshops and events.
Your Profile
- A Passion for Web Frontend Development: You have a strong passion for building outstanding user interfaces and a deep appreciation for good design and clean, maintainable code.
- Comprehensive Web Platform Knowledge: You have a deep understanding of Web Accessibility (a11y) and ensure our components are usable for everyone. You are familiar with modern browser Web APIs.
- Solid Foundations: You have solid practical experience in frontend development and are proficient in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Vue.js Skills: You have practical experience with Vue.js, a solid understanding of its core concepts, and an interest in how Vue internals work.
- Tooling & Ecosystem: You are experienced in working with the modern frontend ecosystem, including build tools (like Vite), CI/CD concepts, and rendering patterns like Server-Side Rendering (SSR) / Static Site Generation (SSG). You understand software architecture principles and can apply them to your work.
- The Right Mindset: You are curious, eager to learn, and driven to quickly grasp complex topics. You see feedback as a gift and are committed to your own continuous improvement.
- A True Team Player: You enjoy collaborating, communicating openly, and are a reliable part of the team. You can clearly present your ideas and give constructive feedback.
- Language Skills: You are fluent in English, as it is our team's working language. German language skills are a plus, but not required.
